Epilepsi lobus temporal

Dalam bidang neurologi, epilepsi lobus temporal adalah gangguan otak yang berlangsung lama dan menyebabkan serangan tiba-tiba yang tidak dapat diprediksi dari lobus temporal. Epilepsi lobus temporal merupakan jenis epilepsi onset fokus yang paling umum di antara orang dewasa. Gejala serangan dan perilaku membedakan serangan yang berasal dari lobus temporal medial dengan serangan yang berasal dari lobus temporal lateral (neokortikal). Gangguan memori dan komorbiditas kejiwaan dapat terjadi. Diagnosis didasarkan pada studi elektroensefalografis (EEG) dan neuroimaging. Penggunaan obat anti-kejang, operasi epilepsi, dan perawatan diet mungkin dapat meningkatkan kontrol serangan.
