Gekkonidae adalah golongan/familia kadal yang didalamnya meliputi jenis-jenis tokek dan cicak yang tersebar di seluruh daerah tropis di dunia. Beberapa jenis dari suku ini termasuk jenis kadal yang paling sering dijumpai dan hidup di sekeliling manusia.[1][2][3][4][5][6]
Umumnya golongan gekkonidae tidak mempunyai kelopak mata. Bagian tersebut digantikan oleh membran transparan sebagai pelapis matanya[7]
