James Edward Burton (lahir 21 Agustus 1939[1]) adalah seorang gitaris Amerika. Sebagai anggota Rock and Roll Hall of Fame sejak 2001[2] (pidato pencantumannya diberikan oleh penggemar jangka panjangnya Keith Richards), Burton juga diakui oleh Rockabilly Hall of Fame dan Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum. Kritikus Mark Demming menyatakan bahwa "Burton memiliki reputasi menonjol sebagai salah satu pemetik gitar terbaik dalam genre country atau rock ... Burton adalah salah satu pemain gitar terbaik yang pernah menyentuh alat petik."[3]
