Madison, New Jersey
Madison adalah sebuah kotamadya di County Morris, di negara bagian New Jersey, Amerika Serikat. Pada sensus Amerika Serikat 2020, populasi kotamadya tersebut ialah 16.937 jiwa,[1][2] meningkat 1.092 jiwa (+6,9%) dari jumlah sensus tahun 2010 sebanyak 15.845 jiwa,[3][4] yang pada gilirannya mencerminkan penurunan populasi sebanyak 685 jiwa (−4,1%) dari 16.530 jiwa yang dihitung dalam sensus tahun 2000.[5]
Madison merupakan kota perguruan tinggi yang menjadi rumah bagi Universitas Drew dan Universitas Fairleigh Dickinson; Universitas Saint Elizabeth terletak di Convent Station, New Jersey.[6] Madison juga merupakan rumah bagi Teater Shakespeare di New Jersey, salah satu perusahaan Shakespeare profesional terbesar di Amerika Utara.[7]
Geografi
Menurut Biro Sensus Amerika Serikat, wilayah kota ini memiliki luas total 4,33 mil persegi (11,20 km2), termasuk 4,31 mil persegi (11,17 km2) daratan dan 0,01 mil persegi (0,03 km2) perairan (0,30%).[8][9] Madison terletak sekitar 25 mil (40 km) di sebelah barat pusat kota Manhattan, dan merupakan kota pinggiran Kota New York.[10]
Madison berbatasan dengan kotamadya Chatham di County Morris di sebelah timur, kota kecil Chatham di sebelah selatan, kota kecil Harding dan kota kecil Morris di sebelah barat, dan Taman Florham di sebelah utara.[11][12][13]

Menurut sensus Amerika Serikat tahun 2020, terdapat 16.937 orang, 5.745 rumah tangga, dan 3.931 keluarga yang tinggal di wilayah tersebut. Kepadatan penduduknya adalah 3.927,0 jiwa per mil persegi (1.516,2/km2).[1] Menurut sensus tahun 2010, komposisi rasnya adalah 86,75% (13.746) kulit putih, 2,96% (469) kulit hitam atau Afrika-Amerika, 0,12% (19) penduduk asli Amerika, 5,51% (873) Asia, 0,01% (2) penduduk Kepulauan Pasifik, 2,34% (371) dari ras lain, dan 2,30% (365) dari dua ras atau lebih. Hispanik atau Latin dari ras apa pun adalah 8,87% (1.406) dari populasi.[3]
