Mezlosilin adalah antibiotik penisilin berspektrum luas. Obat ini aktif terhadap bakteri gram-negatif dan beberapa bakteri gram-positif. Tidak seperti kebanyakan penisilin berspektrum luas lainnya, obat ini diekskresikan oleh hati, oleh karena itu obat ini berguna untuk infeksi saluran empedu, seperti kolangitis asendens.
