Sejarah percetakan
Percetakan muncul sejak milenium ke-4 SM dalam bentuk segel silinder yang digunakan oleh peradaban Proto-Elam dan Sumeria untuk mengesahkan dokumen yang ditulis di atas lempengan tanah liat. Bentuk-bentuk awal lainnya meliputi segel blok, mata uang palu, cetakan tembikar, dan cetak kain. Awalnya merupakan metode cetak pola pada kain seperti sutra, cetak blok kayu untuk teks di atas kertas berasal dari Dinasti Tang di Tiongkok pada abad ke-7, hingga menyebarnya produksi buku dan cetak blok kayu di wilayah lain di Asia seperti Korea dan Jepang.
