The General adalah sebuah film komedi bisu Amerika 1926 yang dirilis oleh United Artists. Film tersebut terinspirasi dari Great Locomotive Chase, sebuah kisah nyata dari sebuah peristiwa yang terjadi saat Perang Saudara Amerika. Ceritanya diadaptasi dari memoir The Great Locomotive Chase karya William Pittenger. Film tersebut dibintangi oleh Buster Keaton yang menggarapnya dengan Clyde Bruckman.
