Bones Inc. (Jepang: 株式会社ボンズcode: ja is deprecated , Hepburn: Kabushiki-gaisha Bonzu) adalah sebuah studio anime Jepang. Bones telah memproduksi banyak seri, termasuk Noragami, Wolf's Rain, Scrapped Princess, Eureka Seven, Angelic Layer, Darker than Black, Soul Eater, Ouran High School Host Club dan dua adaptasi dari manga Fullmetal Alchemist bersama dengan Star Driver, Gosick, Mob Psycho 100, Space Dandy, dan My Hero Academia. Kantor pusatnya berlokasi di Igusa, Suginami, Tokyo.^[1]

Sejarah

Bones didirikan oleh para mantan staf Sunrise, yaitu Masahiko Minami, Hiroshi Ōsaka dan Toshihiro Kawamoto pada bulan Oktober 1998. Salah satu proyek perdana mereka adalah berkolaborasi dengan Sunrise dalam Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on Heaven's Door, sebuah film yang didasarkan dari seri anime Cowboy Bebop.

Pada tahun 2007, studio ini kehilangan salah satu pendirinya—Hiroshi Ōsaka, yang dikenal atas karyanya sebagai desainer karakter untuk beberapa seri seperti Mobile Suit Victory Gundam, Mobile Fighter G Gundam dan The Mars Daybreak. Ōsaka telah bertarung melawan kanker sejak lama, dan meninggal karenanya pada tanggal 24 September 2007. Ia berusia 44 tahun pada saat itu.^[2]

Sejak kematian Ōsaka, dua orang baru dimasukkan ke dalam dewan direktur studio ini: Makoto Watanabe dan Takahiro Komori. Komori dikenal sebagai desainer karakter dan juru animasi yang telah lama bekerja untuk Bones sejak didirikan. Karya sebelumnya sebagai desainer termasuk Angelic Layer, Scrapped Princess, dan Darker than Black.^[3]
